“Essentially, an arch” is a sculpture rooted in the exploration of raw earth practice, proposed as both an effort to valorize creative processes and as an anti-capitalist and ecological act in response to consumer society. The work aims to highlight forgotten knowledge and ancestral construction techniques that have been set aside in the contemporary era.
Focusing on the creation of an arch solely by the force of gravity, this sculpture explores architectural theories and practices connected to the surrounding material and its technical assembly.
Production supported by the City of Biel.
